Cynthia Polhill started with the WWPL in 1979 working as an Interpreter while on break from college. After she received a B.A. in History from Aurora University, Aurora, IL in 1984, she worked at 1740 House Antiques in Charlottesville, VA. In 1991 she went to work for the UVA Health Sciences Library in their Interlibrary Loan Department and was later promoted to the Collections Services Department where she worked until 1997. In 1998 she worked for UVA Health Sciences Center as a Worker’s Compensation Claims Coordinator. In 2003 she returned to WWPL as an Interpreter. Seven years later she took over marketing and coordination of group tours which led to being promoted to Visitor Services Coordinator. Cynthia enjoys the Arts, music, traveling, and English Country dancing.
