Cynthia Polhill started with the WWPL in 1979 working as a tour interpreter while home from college.  After receiving a B.A. in history from Aurora University, Aurora, IL in 1984, she worked at 1740 House Antiques in Charlottesville VA until 1991. In 1991 she went to work for the UVA Health Sciences Library with the Interlibrary Loan Department and was then promoted to Collection Services Department where she worked until 1997. In 1998 she worked for UVA Health Sciences Center as a Workers’ Compensation Claims Coordinator until 2001. In 2003 she came back to the WWPL and worked as a Museum Interpreter. Seven years later she took over marketing and coordination of group tours which led to her being promoted to Visitor Services Coordinator.
