Woolly Wilson represents the sheep that were on the White House lawn under President Woodrow Wilson from 1918-1920.

President Wilson used these sheep as the White House lawn maintenance during the War efforts in order to save money and manpower. Originally a flock of 12 sheep and 4 lambs, the flock grew to 48 at its peak. The wool from these sheep raised money for organizations during World War I.
